This formation was mostly used by Antonio Conte last season with Chelsea which was then followed by Mourinho and Pep Guardiola using it in some games.Even Arsene Wenger was tempted to change his back four policy.
In this formation, three strong defenders make sure that there is not much room for the attackers to pop in.This formation has just one drawback that it demands too much from the wingbacks, due to which only the teams that have pacey wingbacks with great stamina can play this formation!
