What's the story?
FIFA 18 is set for a historic release on 29th September but before the game hits gaming stands around the world, gamers will have an opportunity to indulge in FIFA play two weeks before time. This will be via the mode of FIFA 18 demo which is set for a release on September 15th, virtually acting as an appetizer to what promises to be a delicious main course.
The demo is already on the Xbox Store and is 7.3GB in size, meaning a download time of anywhere between one to two hours. The demo is set to appear in Origin, the PS Store and Xbox Live.

In case you didn't know...
The demo version of every FIFA game is generally a prelude to the full version, amping up the hype surrounding the impending release of EA Sports' annual extravaganza and making it the talk of the town around the gaming and mainstream world. Expect this year to be no different as EA plan to make this one of the best sellers in the market.
The heart of the matter
Perhaps the most noteworthy feature of the FIFA 18 demo is the teams that will be included this year. Among the high profile names included in the demo version of the game are Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Juventus.
The following make up the rest of the numbers: Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, PSG, LA Galaxy, Bayern Munich and Toronto FC.
The significant American connection is proof of the developers' need to invest in a market with sureshot reward in terms of sale.
What is also interesting about the demo this time around is that the gamer can witness the start of "The Journey" Season 2 and play as Hunter for a brief period of time. This may not include spoilers of further action in the story mode but gives an idea of what to expect when the full version releases later this month.
What's next?
FIFA 18 will be available on PC, PS 4 and Xbox One with a version of the game also on Nintendo Switch minus the revered Frostbite.
Author's take
FIFA 18 may be a while away but its demo is just a few days away from a release and gamers should pounce on the opportunity to test out this version before really digging their teeth into FIFA gaming post-September. It offers a lot and may be the missing piece in a complex yet highly rewarding puzzle.
