What's the story?FIFA 18 has only just released on Friday and already, there has been quite a major hiccup for EA Sports. It seems that FIFA 18 using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech and the game was cracked in record time. FIFA 18 is among the fastest Denuvo-powered games that have been cracked. In fact, it’s been less than a day, something that it frightening for Denuvo and EA.Fifa 18 crack in a day. You will be missed Denuvo.— Keyur (@FletcherLad) September 30, 2017Gg fifa 18 and pes 18. Not even a month from launching. Crack version can be downloaded already— LQMN (@lqmnhkkm34) September 30, 2017In case you didn't knowDenuvo is an anti-tamper technology and digital rights management scheme developed by Austrian company Denuvo Software Solutions GmbH. It has tied up with various games including FIFA 18, Total Warhammer II, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, Far Cry Primal, Life Is Strange, Pro Evolution Soccer, F1 2017 and others. The heart of the matterDenuvo has had a long history of games getting cracked. However, the company initially said that Denuvo Anti-Tamper "continuously encrypts and decrypts itself so that it is impossible to crack." But they clarified their statement saying that the technology "does not continuously encrypt and decrypt any data on storage media. To do so would be of no benefit in terms of security or performance."The very first game to be cracked was Dragon Age Inquistion. Soon other games followed and now FIFA 18 is the latest victim. What's next?Electronic Arts has removed the Denuvo anti-tamper tech from one of their most popular games, Mass Effect: Andromeda. It will be interesting to see whether it will also remove it from FIFA 18 as well.It is a truly disappointing piece of news and now there have been calls from PC gamers to boycott any games that continue to use the Denuvo anti-tamper tech.Sportskeeda's TakeThis kind of a situation has certainly left Denuvo's reputation in tatters and with a game like FIFA 18 being cracked, it calls into question as to how good the company is.Who knows, maybe EA might remove the technology from FIFA 18 and implement another anti-tamper technology by the time FIFA 19 comes out.
