With the Premier League Team of the Season (TOTS) now officially out there, football and gaming fans can finally have their say on the list of players making the eleven. The team looks pretty unstoppable on paper and includes a host of players that one might have expected to see in the side based on their superior performances in the Premier League this campaign.
David De Gea is in goal with an overall rating of 97 and for good reason. His saves have pretty much ensured Manchester United of second spot and a place in next season's Champions League. A three-man defence is next with the team including Manchester City duo Nicolas Otamendi (93) and Kyle Walker (92) in the mix following their team's triumph in the League this season. Completing this rock solid backline is Spurs' center back Jan Vertonghen with an impressive 92 rating.
Onto midfield next, and there aren't too many surprises here either. Manchester City boss the midfield region with the deft touches of David Silva (95) and the vision and finesse of one Kevin De Bruyne (96). Such has been the impact of these two that City have found the Premier League relatively easy pickings all through the campaign. Joining them in midfield is the class of Christian Eriksen from Spurs who has a hefty 95 rating of his own. The maestro has bossed the midfield for the North London team this season and is a deserving inclusion in the team.
Wrapping up the centre of the park is Brazilian Fernandinho with 93, adding some solidity to the team in midfield. Though his inclusion may surprise a few, his consistency has been unmatched and has brought Guardiola's men the major trophy they so richly deserve.
The front line was always going to be impressive and there are no surprises when it comes to the inclusion of Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah in TOTS. Salah's heroics have propelled Liverpool to the Champions League final and his goals in the Premier League have given Klopp's team the cutting edge in front of goal that sometimes lacked in previous seasons. His name was probably the first in the minds of many football and gaming fans alike and his rating of 98 is the highest in the team.
Salah won't be the only leading man in this team as can be seen with the addition of Spurs striker Harry Kane up front. Kane has had another stellar season in the white shirt and has lit up Wembley Stadium with his goals making him not just deserving of his spot in the team, but also of his 95 rating.
