What's the story?EA Sports just dropped the latest top 100 players yesterday and there were some huge surprises as the list of players to make the top 10 has been all but decided. The biggest surprise of the lot is the omission of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea from the top 10.De Gea has consistently performed to his limits in the past few seasons in the Premier League, single-handedly keeping the club competitive in the post-Alex Ferguson years and then going on to establish himself as Spain's number one 'keeper. However, De Gea's demotion from the top 10 hasn't gone down well with fans of the Spaniard as well as the Red Devils faithful. In case you didn't know...De Gea featured among the top 10 players in FIFA 17 with a 90-rated overall card but features at 11th place in the FIFA 18 top 100. The heart of the matterFans took to social media to vent their frustrations at De Gea not making the top 10, and here are the best reactions:De Gea not making the top 10 rated players in FIFA 18 is a joke— Pogbesque (@Pogbesquee) September 10, 2017David de Gea's Fifa 18 rating is not high enough #mufc https://t.co/AofoveYjKN pic.twitter.com/LKQuWG8cmj— Man United News (@ManUtdMEN) September 11, 2017FIFA 18's overall ratings are an absolute joke. De Gea 90, Bale 89. How?— Hassan Safa (@HassanSafa) September 10, 2017Should be higher— snipes (@Lukesstar) September 11, 201790 very insufficient and inadequate. He's way more than that— kolade gbadamosi (@kollybhadmus) September 10, 2017Disrespectful— Ray (@sirdeuce_) September 11, 2017Should be higher than neuer— akiMufc (@akshay_aki_5) September 10, 2017It must be said that a one-place demotion for De Gea hasn't gone down well with fans of EA Sports FIFA. With Gonzalo Higuain, Eden Hazard, Toni Kroos and Sergio Ramos set to break into the top 10, it seems De Gea was pushed out through no fault of his own. Maybe playing in the Champions League last season would have helped. What's next?FIFA 18 hits the stores on 29th September and the last few top 100 players will be published today, in all probability. The demo version of the game will be released on 15th September. Here are the top 10 players in FIFA 18: Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar, Manuel Neuer, Robert Lewandowski, Sergio Ramos, Eden Hazard, Gonzalo Higuain, Toni Kross.Author's takeWhile people are right to let their frustrations out, it isn't that De Gea has been handed a major downgrade. The United star has a solid 90-rated card, one of the first to be revealed, and has insane goalkeeping attributes like 90 diving, 90 reflexes, 85 handling, 87 kicking and 86 positioning. Also Read: FIFA 18 ratings: EA Sports reveal 20-11 players list featuring Real Madrid, Arsenal stars
