FIFA 18: Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli's old ratings highlight his mercurial rise

Dele Alli has been instrumental in Tottenham’s rise since his move from MK Dons in 2015. with the midfielder winning the PFA Young Player of the Year award in both his seasons with Spurs.

Earlier, the England man had expressed his dismay on seeing how lowly his skills have been rated by the latest installment of the FIFA 18 video game. He has been a given a rating of 84 by FIFA in this year's edition.

Even though FIFA has not been able to impress Dele Alli, his meteoric rise in FIFA through the years has been astounding! His debut in the game came simultaneous with his debut season with MK Dons in 2013. The youngster was given a rating of 54.

Over the next two-and-a-half years he made 88 official appearances for the team, scoring 24 goals. He was just given an upgrade of one point in FIFA 15. He then became the first-choice central midfield partner to Darren Potter at MK Dons after which came his transfer to Tottenham which changed his fortunes completely.

In FIFA 16, he got a 12 point increase in his overall rating to 67 and His ability was starting to get recognized by the whole world. In the 2015-2016, alongside Eriksen, he was instrumental. Even though Spurs came second to Leicester that season, but Dele Alli's performance made him one of the best midfielders in the country. That season, FIFA also rewarded him by giving him a massive 85 rated Team of the Season card.

In FIFA 17, Dele Alli saw his rating going up to a respectable 80. As you would expect, Alli was still not happy with his card because according to him, It didn't reflect his true ability! But, FIFA again rewarded him with a massive 91 rated Team of the Season card for his performances and a similar card for picking up the Young Player of the Year award.

And now, at just 21 years old, the Tottenham tormentor is still barely scratching the surface of his potential, a thought that ought to keep opposing defences up at night. As a result, he was rewarded with a high rated card of 84 in FIFA 18, which still failed to satisfy him. He even refused to play with his card till the time his rating isn't improved!

Five years on from his humble debut, Alli was taking to the hallowed Wembley turf to take on the reigning European champions. Not only was he rubbing shoulders with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Luka Modric, he was utterly outplaying them. Alli's immense potential is hidden from no one, due to which his 84-rated card looks lowly against his immaculate abilities!
