Real Madrid again dominated the EA Sports FIFA 18 TOTY with four players

EA Sports revealed the FIFA 18 Team of the Year in three segments according to positions on the field. The names of the strikers - Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Harry Kane were announced on Monday while the names of Luka Modric, Kevin De Bruyne and N'Golo Kante came out of the bag on Tuesday. To complete the team, the names of David De Gea, Dani Alves, Leonardo Bonucci, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo were announced on Wednesday.

While Real Madrid dominated the team with four players, seven clubs - Manchester City, FC Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Paris Saint Germain, AC Milan and Chelsea had one representative each.

Bonnuci and Alves made the team on the basis of impressive performances in the first half of 2017 when both were with Juventus. Bianconeri ended up runners-up in the 2016-17 Champions League season and won the Serie A title too. However, Bonucci then switched to AC Milan and Alves became a PSG player.

Premier League players were finally recognised by EA Sports for their efforts as four players plying their trade in England earned their way into the FIFA 18 team of the year. Last year, none of the Premier League players were selected in the final XI but Kane, De Gea, Kante and De Bruyne were selected in the final XI this year.

Real Madrid again dominated the TOTY in FIFA 18 as they have four players in the starting XI, one less than last year. Modric, Ronaldo, Marcelo and Ramos retained their positions in the team with Kroos losing his place to Kante.

FC Barcelona had four players in TOTY of FIFA 17 but Messi was the only player from the Catalan club to retain his place in FIFA 18's TOTY with Suarez, Iniesta and Pique missing out this time as the Catalans failed to win any major trophy last season.

Surprisingly, Bayern Munich players didn't feature in this year's final XI.
