Real Madrid are not enjoying a good season and nothing seems to be going their way. They had to deal with the departures of Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer and they have just not done enough to fill the void left by them.

Julen Lopetegui has come and gone, Santiago Solari is trying hard but Los Blancos just don't seem to be getting anything right this season. However, despite all the misery at the club, a few players have done well.

Here are the three players who will get an upgrade when the rating refresh happens:

#3 – Dani Carvajal

The 2 main issues at Real Madrid this season have been the lack of goals and the lack of clean sheets. They have conceded far too many goals and that is one big concern especially after spending €35 million to get Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea.

Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane have been poor and Marcelo has been injured for a few games. Dani Carvajal, on the other hand, has been the sole defender at the club who has tried to do something extraordinary and been solid at the back, to some extent.

He is currently rated at 84 in FIFA 19 and his base card is in contention to get a boost in the winter upgrade. It surely won't be a big boost but a small one of just +1. 85 would be the ideal rating for him and EA should give it to him.

He has two special cards in the game as well, one UCL and one In-form card. The UCL card is at 85 and that might just become his base card as well in February.

#2 – Vinicius Junior

Vinicius Junior – The Brazilian wonderkid Real Madrid have taken a gamble on has shown what he is capable of. The 18-year-old has taken all the opportunities he has gotten at the club so far and is doing all he can to get them some goals.

While he is rated highly in the world of football, in FIFA 19, he has a rating of just 77 right now. EA have given him a 92-rated Future Stars Players card and shown that they do believe that he has the potential to make it big.

In the winter rating refresh, he is not going to get a huge rating boost. With Mariano Diaz rated at 80, it might just be ideal for EA to push Vinicius to the same rating as well. His pace stats will remain the same but his shooting and dribbling will improve for sure.

#1 – Brahim Diaz

Brahim Diaz has just joined Real Madrid but has already started to play an important role at the club. He has made just 3 substitute appearances for Los Blancos but has been effective in all three matches.

The former Manchester City starlet joined the Bernabeu side earlier this month after rejecting a new deal offered by the Premier League side. While he is not expected to be starting for Madrid this season and even the next one, he could well and truly be the buy that changes Madrid's 2018/19 season fortunes.

Diaz has a silver card in FIFA 19, rated at just 69. He will remain a silver rated card in the game but will see his rating go up for 2-3 when the rating refresh happens in February. He has an 85-rated Future Stars Nominee card and anyone who has played with his on-loan card will know that he is just too good.
