FIFA 15: Predicting the ratings of 15 Arsenal players

Despite their impressive start in the domestic league 2013-14 season, Arsenal had to do with yet another fourth-placed season. However, they were successful in winning the FA Cup, their first major trophy in nine years. It is highly unlikely that the Gunners will be seeing any major improvement in their overall team attributes, especially since they didn’t make any big name signings other than former Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez. In this slideshow, we predict the ratings of the best 15 Arsenal players:

Previous rating: 82

Had Jack Wilshere been injury free, a much higher rating would have been on the cards for the 22 year old, however, we still expect him to get an overall upgrade for most of his attributes. Wilshere made a total of 35 appearances for Arsenal last season, scoring 5 goals – not very impressive, but with a growth of at least 7 points in the last FIFA installment, Wilshere is a player with the ability to grow into the best central midfielder as the game progresses, and will continue to be one of FIFA’s most sought out players in the career mode.

Previous rating: 81

With an acceleration of 97, and sprint speed of 96, Theo Walcott’s pace is what separates him from most other players in the game. However, apart from that, it is highly unlikely that we will see any major changes in his overall ratings. The Arsenal winger made a total of 19 appearances last season, scoring 7 goals, and 5 assists. His potential in FIFA 14 saw him reach the mark of 86, and even some cases, over 90.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is one of the brightest prospects for the Gunners, but he had a below-par campaign last season, making only 14 appearances in the Premier League, scoring twice, and assisting twice. Previous rating: 79

Arsenal's Wojciech Szczesny has the potential to one of the game's best keepers in FIFA as the game progresses, and is a much cheaper, and viable option than Thiabaut Cortouis or Marc-André ter Stegen who are younger, and are already playing for two of the biggest clubs in Europe. Szczesny was the joint Premier League Golden Glove awardee last season, making 111 saves in 37 matches, keeping a total of 16 clean sheets. Previous rating: 85

Santi Cazorla's overall rating of 85 is unlikely to increase in FIFA 15 despite the fact that he will be turning 30 at the end of this year. Previous rating: 81

A regular starter for the North London club now, Laurent Koscielny had a good Premier League campaign with Arsenal last season. He started a total of 32 games, and even managed to score twice. Previously rated 81, his strength (only 63) seems to be a major problem for his overall attributes to improve, and unless EA take notice to that problem, it is unlikely that his ratings will go much higher than 82. The French will turn 29 by the time the game releases, so expect him to be in the prime of his career.

#15 Mesut Ozil: 88

Ad

Previous rating: 87

Despite being one of the best midfielders in the world, Mesut Ozil’s ratings in FIFA has somewhat always been overlooked by EA. Not that 87 is a bad rating, but considering his statistics and potential, he deserves to be rated at least 89 in the game with the potential to reach 92 as the career progresses. He had a decent season for the Gunners in his first year in England, starting 26 matches, scoring 5, and assisting 9 goals. Leaving out his stamina and strength, he is the ideal midfielder that you would want to have in your team, especially if you are managing Real Madrid, and are looking to re-unite him with Cristiano Ronaldo.
