Rumours regarding the next Grand Theft Auto game has started spreading and the latest information from Pastebin suggests that GTA 6 will be set in Liberty City and Vice City. These two are the most iconic settings when it comes to Grand Theft Auto games and has previously been seen in 2008's Grand Theft Auto IV and 2002's GTA Vice City respectively.

Now even though seeing both the maps returning for the next generation of Grand Theft Auto game would be a dream come true, Ultimately it wouldn't be something that's new. Now Rockstar Games somewhat seems obsessed with the American Culture. That is undoubtedly the reason why every single one of their Grand Theft Auto titles as well as Red Dead series features an American setting (for the latter it's obvious).

Now the thing is that they have absolutely mastered the way one can portray American pop culture as well as Wild West in their previous titles. But what's important to note here is that they are still making games while being confined in their boundary, in their comfort zone. This is one of the reasons why Red Dead Redemption 2 failed to surprise me in terms of its NPCs and the game world. Because every one of those strangers I stumbled upon gave me a déjà vu feeling. I had already encountered strikingly similar characters in the previous Red Dead title. That is something Rockstar Games needs to overcome. Look at how the latest God Of War reinvented itself by taking us through a different mythology, a new emphasis on the storytelling as well as a complete overhaul at how we looked at this series.

Featuring a setting that takes place outside America, such as Japan or European countries like England or Paris would challenge them to potray a different culture in unique ways. This will make the next Grand Theft Auto game( seemingly GTA 6) feel entirely new and exciting to explore. The extent of which can't really be compared to revisiting the maps of Liberty City or Vice City, even though I'm positive that Rockstar Games will absoutely nail that because th are already so good in it. But that's not the point. And that's not how the series will grow as a world wide phenomenon it has become in the last few years.

What are your thoughts regarding this? Should GTA 6 feature an entirely new setting and culture should the game revisit previously explored areas such as Liberty City or VIce City? Tell me in the comments down below.
