Guns of Boom is a cartoon-ish mobile shooter game which at first glance may look like a casual game for casual players. The Android/iOS shooter is exactly that but it has a very high skill cap. The game, in the highest level of competition calls for map awareness, good reflexes, strategic and tactical planning, and most importantly team communication. The game thus has a thriving eSports scene.

The Week 5 Challenger Cup was held last weekend for the four regions which are- NA, EU, SEA and LATAM. The weekly tournament's results will decide which team will represent their specific region at the live event called The Guns of Boom Pro Series which is scheduled on April 6th, 2019 in North America. Each region had a prize pool of $1000 which was divided amongst the top eight teams. The winners for this week's tournament were: NA- Team Force; EU- Unbreakable; LATAM- Brazukas; SEA- IND_Wolves.

There is so far one more Challenger Cup scheduled this weekend. After this, we will be able to see which all teams have been selected for the live event on April.

There is also a live event scheduled for the game on March 1, 2019 at the Intel Extreme Masters, Katowice. The event will be held at the main stage of the Spodek Arena. Two teams will battle it out in a best of 7 game for a share of the $50K price pool. The winner will receive $40K whereas the runner up will get $10K. The two teams playing in this event are- Lazarus: Current Guns of Boom World Champion and Noble: Second Place in the Season 1 World Finals.

In an article on the ESL official site titled- "Mobile gaming to make its debut at Katowice", they said-

It’s an understatement to say that Katowice 2019 is jam packed with some of the biggest esports games from around the world. Now Guns of Boom, an FPS shooter with more than 60 million downloads that’s taken the mobile gaming world by storm, will be joining them at the Katowice Mainstage in March.
