Devil May Cry 5 game designer Hideaki Itsuno who is also known for his work in other major Capcom titles such as Dragon's Dogma recently sat down to an interview with Eurogamer.

Upon asking about his experience with making Dragon's Dogma he stated the following-

Dragon’s Dogma! That was a brand new series – a lot of other stuff I’d done was already established. It was one of the first real new things. And back then it still wasn’t quite so common for Capcom to do a simultaneous worldwide release, plus we were doing all this new stuff with the pawn system.
If I could, I’d love to make Dragon’s Dogma 2 – it’d be awesome.

Hideaki Itsuno further went on to state that he actually got a chance to make Dragon's Dogma 2 rather than Devil May Cry 5 at one point but it seems he chose to go with the later.

Devil May Cry 5 is out 8 March 2019 and it seems Hideaki Itsuno is excited to go back and work on another Dragon's Dogma game.

Capcom also stated back in 2016 that the studio has been thinking of making Dragon's Dogma 2 for quite some time now.

After Devil May Cry 5 is out in the shelves, maybe its finally time for them to return to the beautiful world of Gransys on the next generation of consoles-offering a revamped version of pawn system from the first game, more beautiful vistas to explore, and cool hybrid beasts to kill.

As you wait for Dragon's Dogma 2, you can actually dive into Dragon's Dogma Online which is a free-to-play MMO RPG available right now on PC, PS3 and PS4.
