Horizon Zero Dawn's gameplay was enthralling, exciting and addictive. Aloy controlled beautifully. The camera was sleek and precise. The bow itself functioned so well that none of the combat encounters ever felt boring.

Of course where Horizon Zero Dawn really lacked, considering that gameplay was its priority was providing Aloy with a vast variety of weapons. Sure every type which was present in the game were extremely useful. The different bows, rope caster, trip caster, sharp shot were all distinct and important but their variant was severely lacking.

I mean except the three types of every weapon time, the only other important weapon you get is the legendary one, that too after grinding for a countless number of hours in finishing the different hunting challenges but even that is not very effective.

The same issue could be said about one of my other favourite game this generation which was Bloodborne. It had less variety of weapons but each one of them very entirely unique and felt useful, although this game did provide a huge number of options when it came to choosing weapons in it's DLC- The Old Hunters.

Horizon Zero Dawn 2 seems to keep this in mind and should stick to a more loot based system when it comes to its weapons like in the recent Assassin's Creed games or at least give us more option to choose from the existing weapon types. Here's hoping that Guerrilla Games are taking notes.
