Manor Lords offers various types of food sources that require constructing different buildings to acquire them. Here's a list of different food items and how to unlock them:

Meat: Meat is obtained by constructing Hunting Camps and assigning villagers to the Hunter profession. However, meat should not be relied on as the sole food item as overhunting can cause animal extinction.

Vegetables: Construct Vegetable Gardens in the Burgage Plot to allow villagers to grow a variety of vegetables, such as carrots, cabbage, and turnips. Since vegetable production is seasonal, plan accordingly and consider saving some vegetable production for the winter.

Berries: Berries can be gathered by building Forager Huts. Assign a few villagers to become Foragers who will harvest berries from nearby bushes.

Bread: Obtaining bread requires multiple steps and some progress in your game. First, you need to grow and harvest wheat in your Farmhouses. Then, wheat needs to be processed into flour by using a Windmill. Finally, build a Communal Oven or Bakery Extension to bake the flour into bread.

Eggs: Build Chicken Coops in a Burgage Plot to house your chickens. Chickens are a relatively low-maintenance food source that provides a passive and consistent supply of eggs.

Apples: Orchards will allow you to cultivate apple trees, which you can plant in designated areas within your orchard. Although apple trees take a long time to mature, they offer a reliable source of food that also trades for a high price once established.

Honey: Honey is produced by Apiaries. These structures do not require any fields or resource deposits. Simply assign your villagers to become beekeepers and you will have consistent honey production throughout the year.

Meat and berries are the easiest to obtain early game food in Manor Lords.

To acquire meat, construct Hunting Camps near animal habitats and assign some villagers. Hunting animals also provide leather and wool that can be used to generate clothing for harsh winters. However, too much reliance on hunting can cause animal extinction and permanent loss of this resource from your land.

This is where berries come in. Since berries are a renewable resource, you can have a consistent food supply without worrying about exhausting it. Simply construct some Forager Huts and assign villagers to gather berries for you. Berries grow in all seasons except winter and are a very consistent food supply for the early game.
