Lethal Company has had an immense surge in popularity since its October 24, 2023 release. The game has since grown a healthy modding community that offers a ton of extra additions to the base game in the form of enemies and weapons. Of particular interest is the Toy Hammer mod, which can be considered a joke item that functions similarly to the Shovel.
A breakdown of the mod can be found below, as well as instructions on how to install it.

What does the Toy Hammer do?
The Toy Hammer is a melee weapon, much akin to the Shovel and Stop signs. As per the official website description, the item possesses the following characteristics:
- Can be used to gently “bonk” misbehaving employees.
- Bonking a player hard enough can cause death, and as such, caution must be exercised when using the item.
- Pressing G will Drop the item to the ground.
- Clicking the Left Mouse Button will swing the Toy Hammer at a nearby enemy/ally.
The Hammer makes a honking noise on impact and is intended to be a joke item.
Can you get banned for using the Toy Hammer?
Thankfully, it seems that using mods in Lethal Company is entirely safe and will not result in bans of any kind. As an extension, the Toy Hammer mod will also be unlikely to cause a ban by itself as it is not a game-breaking item. The Hammer does not affect the game balance, nor does it give players an unfair advantage.
Lethal Company is an early-access indie game from developer Zeekerss. This co-op horror game has players scavenging abandoned moons in order to meet a “quota”, while surviving through the horrors of the night. The game is available exclusively on PC via Steam.
