The 2014 Grammy winners for Best Rock Performance, Imagine Dragons, have taken time off from their busy schedules to produce a song to celebrate the League of Legends World Championship 2014, which is to kick off today in Taipei, Taiwan. Apparently LoL is their favourite game, and a new animated video called Warrior has been released by Riot games, featuring this song. This collaboration adds further hype to the tournament which had drawn about 32 million viewers in the finals last year.
“To kick off the start of the action, we set out to craft a war cry to rally behind in a creative collaboration with Imagine Dragons,” Riot said in a statement. The stylized collaboration sets a competitive tone for the tournament which drew 32 million viewers last year.
According to tweets of Brandon Beck, the CEO and co-founder of Riot games, most Imagine Dragons members are level 30 in League of Legends. This he states is the reason why the collaboration was so fun. "They are legit gamers", he says.
