Interstellar movie gets cool 80s inspired text based game

Interstellar released back in 2014

Christopher Nolan’s 2014 hit science fiction film, Interstellar, got everyone thinking about the potential future of humanity. Set in the near apocalyptic future when Earth’s crops have been ravaged by blight, Interstellar focuses on a crew of astronauts who travel through a wormhole in search of a habitable planet for humanity. And if you’ve been obsessed about the movie, you can now try out the Interstellar Text Adventure game.

The text based game is set in the world of Interstellar and launched just recently. If you are familiar with classic 80s text-based computer games like Zork and dnd, then you won’t have too much trouble with this one.

The game pits you in the role of a lone scientist sent on the Lazarus Project to discover a new home for the people back on Earth. It’s fairly simple and your main task involves placing four probes to see if the planet is suitable for human life. However, simple does not make the game any easier and people who have played text-based games before will have an advantage over others. Still it is quite fun to try out and pretty well written to boot.
