LCS resumed this week as 8 teams fight for the spring split. There have been several changes in all the squads with everyone strengthening their roster. Here are the highlights from week 1:

Team Liquid too strong for North America

Despite failing to produce much in the international tournaments. Team Liquid is still a dominant force in the domestic split. Liquid started the week against Cloud 9 and easily managed to defeat them. Jensen left Cloud 9 in the offseason to join Team Liquid and while Cloud 9 is a strong team, Team Liquid was clearly better.

Jensen was the standout performer on Cassiopeia. Team Liquid also defeated Counter Logic Gaming going 2-0 in week 1.

100 Thieves falls apart

100 Thieves had some significant upgrades in the offseason bringing Huhi from Counter Logic Gaming and Bang from SKT T1. However, they failed to make any major impact in week 1. 100 Thieves dropped both of their games in week 1 to TSM and Cloud 9. Ssumday, who has been the star performer for the team in the past seasons, had a poor showing. It's only week 1 but there seem to be some obvious problems with the squad.

Clutch Gaming the dark horse?

Clutch Gaming is a squad with very high potential but also can fall anytime. They have some exceptionally talented players like Huni, Piglet, and Lira. Many pundits and experts have predicted that this roster won't be successful in the long run due to their inconsistent playstyle. This being said, the team went 2-0 in week 1. They defeated Echo Fox comfortably and also managed to upset TSM.

Damonte was the major star in both the games as he showed everyone that he is no slouch. Piglet was also brilliant along with Lira. Huni was decent but struggled a bit against TSM.
