Esports is a big part of League of Legends. The game is known for being one of the most popular titles in Esports. Riot has big plans regarding the Esports category moving forward and here are the highlights from their plans for future-

According to Riot, they are preparing for the next stage of growth by doubling down the commitment for the long term planning and elevating the overall digital experience.

In 2018 Riot revealed the locations of the next three World championship being Europe, China, and North America. They have now revealed the location for the 2019 Mid Season Invitational tournament which will be Vietnam and Taipei. 2018 saw the launch of Vietnam Championship series much like the other major regions. Team Evos had an impressive showing at the tournament as they won the first VCS title. Bringing MSI to the region will allow the upcoming community to experience the League of Legends event first hand which will grow the community even more.

Worlds 2018 saw the start of a reward system where players can earn rewards just by watching Worlds event. Riot has now expanded this system to all the regions. To earn rewards you just have to watch the matches via the official LOL Esports website. Keep in mind that Youtube and Twitch won't count.

League is a game which has survived almost a decade now. The game has given fame to several superstars like Faker and Uzi. It's now important to breed the younger generation properly so that the League scene can thrive even more. This year Riot will continue to focus on the amateur, Semi-professional League scene. This will help new players close the gap between pro play and amateur play. Season 9 is in full swing and Riot will announce more plans as we move forward.
