Ian Bell, the CEO and founder of Slightly Mad Studios group, via Twitter, showcased some of the new designs of the upcoming Mad Box console.

In case you didn't know...

Sightly Mad Studios, the company behind the Project CARS franchise, announced via Twitter that they would be assembling a team to build their own video game console to compete with the likes of Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Furthermore, their CEO claimed that the Mad Box console would feature powerful hardware offering unrivalled gaming experience.

Bell insisted that the brand-new console would offer players 4K, and VR at 60 frames-per-second for a stunning visual experience. Another tweet declared that the new console would be able to deliver 180 FPS internally.

Also, the very vocal CEO promised developers a free engine to create games for the Mad Box.

The heart of the matter

Ian Bell managed to put out tweets highlighting the possible designs of the company's new videogame console. All the tweets hinted that the company was open to suggestions regarding the design, which could go a long way in developing a fanbase before the console's actual release.

Most of the designs introduced so far are rather unconventional and will certainly breathe fresh air to the console design in the future. The latest schematic unveiled by Bell focuses on a sci-fi themed sleek box that follows a more conventional design approach.

However, one should note that the product is still a concept and the internal specs are not finalised yet.

What's next?

All the proposed designs look stunning and will surely turn a few heads during the launch. However, one will have to wait and see if the console can take on Sony, which currently holds a dominant market share in the console segment.
