The Metro series, based on Dmitry Glukhovsky's Metro novels, continues this year when Metro Exodus arrives on February 15th. Fans of the previous two titles, Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, have awaited this title for quite some time and were disappointed when it was delayed to 2019.

However, as we get closer to the launch date, the hype for the third instalment in the series continues to build. A new trailer was released yesterday, focusing on the story of Metro Exodus. The trailer is narrated by Anna, the wife of series protagonist Artyom, and the Spartan Order's top sniper.

Metro Exodus takes the good ending of the previous title in which Artyom survives, and the Dark Ones disappear to find safety.

The trailer opens up with Anna in awe of the world around her. The green grass and the fresh air were things unknown to her, nor anyone else born underground. Now, two years after the ending of Last Light, Artyom and the Spartan Rangers will branch out and explore the remains of civilization.

It seems Artyom, Anna, and the rest of the Spartan Rangers will have to take on an all-new evil group, all the while surviving the harsh dynamic weather system and any mutated creatures that may be lying in wait. Explore the harsh Russian wastelands as you try to build a life outside the Metro, for the sake of the people.

What is this new regime trying to halt the progress of Artyom? Will the Dark Ones return to help rebuild the world like they said they would? You can find out when Metro Exodus hits shelves on February 15th, 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
