New game development studio to specialize in narrative RPG's

With the New Year, comes a brand new game development studio. Big Bad Wolf Studios has now opened in Bordeaux, France and they will be specializing in narrative based role playing games with unique mature content.

Although the studio might be new, it is not comprised of amateurs. In fact, the studio employees are veteran game developers from big companies like Blizzard Entertainment, Cyanide, and Ubisoft. They have worked on various titles in the past, ranging from the World of Warcraft, Of Orcs and Men, Game of Thrones, Blood Bowl series and Styx: Master Of Shadows. The studio has already released a couple of blurry screenshots on their main website which are from their upcoming new game.

Big Bad Wolf will be focusing primarily on games with strong narratives and emotional experiences that depend largely on player choice. So we can probably expect their titles to be like TellTale’s Walking Dead series, which is also a narrative RPG with mature emotional themes that relies heavily on player choice. Of course, it is too early to predict what the games will be like but the new game developers have posted a few concepts on their website:

They are currently developing their first title, an RPG which is an “inward-looking, dark, mature, new IP.” The game will use a custom studio-created engine and will be releasing for PS4, Xbox One and PC. We will be probably hearing more from Big Bad Wolf this year.
