New PS3 update 4.70 is now live

The PS3 update will consist of minor for DVD/Blu-ray features

The latest PS3 update 4.70 is now up for download. The update will consist of minor tweaks that will be helpful for DVD/Blu-ray owners. PlayStation 3 owners who have not yet received the update will be able to download it after a short while. The update size is pretty minor and should not take too long to download.

Another minor detail added with this update is the new PSN logo, which is now visible. DualShockers have taken a screenshot of the new logo, which is basically the PlayStation logo inside a blue sphere with “PlayStation Network” labelled at the bottom.

The PS3 4.70 update will consist of the following features:

“Closed Captions are now supported for the Playback of Blu-Ray Disc titles and DVDs. To display closed captions, select [Settings] > [Video Settings] > [Closed Captions].

The style used for for closed captions, such as the font, size and color, can now be adjusted. Select [Settings] > [Video Settings] > [Closed Captions Settings].”
