New trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight reveals Scarecrow uniting Gothams villians

Batman: Arkham Knight is slated to release on June 2nd

Rocksteady Studios have launched a brand new Batman: Arkham Knight trailer, and it looks pretty cool, though quite dark. Dubbed ‘Gotham is Mine’, the trailer focuses on the games main villains who are now uniting to kill the Batman. That doesn’t sound like good news for the Dark Knight, but at least players will have a chance to face legendary villains like The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, The Riddler and Harley Quinn. All of these maniacs will be wreaking havoc across Gotham, thanks to the Scarecrow, who rallied the lot together in the first place.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be the fourth and final entry in the Arkham series from Rocksteady. The series began back in 2009 with the release of Batman: Arkham Asylum, a game which received widespread critical acclaim and sold millions of copies worldwide. Arkham Asylum has been credited with changing the superhero game genre with its improved combat, story, and manoeuvrability.

Even though the series is coming to end, this probably isn’t the last time we will see Batman in a video game form. Many have been speculating that the series will continue once Rocksteady leaves it behind. So while the current storyline may be at its end, it’s likely that a reboot of the game will happen sometime in the future.

Batman: Arkham Knight is slated to release on June 2nd, 2015 for the Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4. The game has been rated M for Mature by the ESRB, which would explain why the trailer looks so dark. You can check out the brand new trailer below:
