The esports audience has been growing exponentially during the pandemic era and the ensuing lockdown, as people are continuously looking for modes of entertainment online. This trend became more evident after Esports Charts revealed its report on the most popular esports tournaments from September.
League of Legends dominated the viewership tallies this month, as four out of the top-five most-watched tournaments belonged to this game.

League of Legends Worlds 2020
According to the Esports Charts report, the MAD Lions vs Team Liquid game from the League of Legends World Championship 2020, played on 25th September, holds the record of highest live viewers. The viewership touched 1,168,105 during the live stream, as Liquid ended up winning.
The Worlds 2020 is the tenth edition of the League of Legends World Championship, and will go on from 25th September till 31st October.
MPL Indonesia Season 6
With 1,092,949 live viewers on 13th September, the game between RRQ and ONIC at the MPL Indonesia Season 6 became the second-most popular esports tournament last month. This event features a prize pool of $300,000 and will conclude on 18th October.
LCK Regional Finals 2020
The LCK Regional Finals 2020 made the top three most-popular tournaments list, recording a peak viewership of 1,044,983. The match between Gen G and T1 on 9th September recorded this achievement, with the latter winning and qualifying for the Worlds 2020.
LEC Summer 2020
The game between G2 Esports vs Fnatic at the LEC Summer 2020, played on 6th September, recorded a 1,002,178 peak viewership. It saw this event become the fourth-most popular esports tournament in September, as G2 ended up winning the tie.
