Honkai Star Rail has been in a bit of hot water lately, with Chris Niosi's (Moze’s English VA) alleged sexual abuse history being brought into the limelight. Fans are understandably disappointed with HoYoverse’s casting of the character, with many calling for Niosi’s immediate removal from the ongoing role.

Recently, Griffin Puatu, who is the English VA for Sunday, has come forward in support of Niosi, calling out the “excessive” backlash and asking for a chance at the latter’s redemption. This was indicated in a Reddit post that was met with mixed reactions from the community.

A breakdown of Puatu's Reddit post is detailed below.

Griffen Puatu defends Chris Niosi over allegations of sexual abuse in Honkai Star Rail

As detailed in a Reddit post in the official Honkai Star Rail subreddit, the EN voice actor for Sunday, Griffin Puatu, has extensively given his take on the Chris Niosi controversy. He stated that although Chris has admitted to his wrongdoings, he has vehemently denied a large part of the charges he was accused of.

Furthermore, according to Griffin, Chris has not faced any criminal charges and has regained the support of his fans as well as peers. He also says that Chris has apologized for the incidents and has “changed and grown” as a person, which can be verified by his colleagues who were at the epicenter of these events.

With this post, Griffen wholeheartedly supports Chris and even welcomes his role as Moze in Honkai Star Rail. Puatu genuinely believes his colleague has changed for the better. According to Puatu, Niosi deserves a chance at redemption, and the reactionary response from X has been of concern lately.

Few have come out in support of Chris after this post, while a majority have maintained that he should still be held accountable for his actions. In a way, the post caused more harm than good, as it exposed a fair deal of players to the debacle, further plummeting Niosi’s reputation to the public.
