"Nasty work": Viewers call out FaZe Rug and his YouTuber family for using the death of their dog for views

On November 15th, 2023, FaZe Rug posted a YouTube video announcing the death of his beloved dog, Bosley. The video was titled "rest in peace, bosley." and was also shared by Rug's family members on YouTube, including Brawadis and Mama Rug and Papa Rug. Viewers accused FaZe Rug's family of impression farming as soon as the videos were posted.

Social media influencer FearBuck posted screenshots of Rug and his family's videos on X (previously Twitter) with a caption that said,

In the video, Rug shared with his audience that his pug, Bosley, had passed away unexpectedly due to heart failure. The family was seen in tears while discussing the sudden loss of their beloved pet. Rug explained that the news came as a shock to them all. He said:

"It was very unexpected and all of a sudden. Like, I was in Vegas, Brandon went to Arizona. We're all.. you know everything's good and just the next day we lost a huge part of our family. Out of nowhere."

As the video was posted, viewers took to X to speak about how FaZe Rug and his family were using their dog's passing for impressions and engagement.

Many other viewers commented under the FearBuck's tweet, agreeing with him. Tiktoker Nathan Armstrong commented that he thought it was crazy that three different videos were shot.

One of Rug's fans stood up for him and said that it was completely okay as all three have their independent YouTube channels and might have wanted to share the news with their respective audiences.

These two viewers shared similar reactions to the fact that three different videos were made.

User @B00KERJR even accused FaZe Rug of faking his dog's death for views and calling it an attempt to bring their views up.

User @NerveBtw came to the support of Rug and mentioned that everyone needs to grow up and that their dog Bosley has been in all their videos.

One fan commented that the current situation is the new reality. He also stated that it is acceptable to remember your dog in multiple ways, as they have distinct communities.


Many viewers have been reacting and replying to this X thread. Alongside posting the video, Rug also uploaded a post on Instagram for his beloved pet Bosley and also posted about his passing on X. He's yet to respond to the comments from the community.
