Linus Sebastian, the founder and creator of the popular YouTube channel LinusTechTips, recently shared his thoughts on the trending controversies involving Pokimane and Dream. Despite the difference in the allegations made against them, both creators have been making headlines lately. The tech YouTuber was surprised to learn both had a similar number of posts under the trending section on X.

Pokimane was involved in a controversy about her new cookie brand, Myna Snacks, for pricing her cookies at $28 per bag. The Twitch streamer has been going viral on social media due to a clip of her calling a viewer "broke."

On the other hand, the "Dream Did What" hashtag has been trending due to grooming allegations made against the creator and a viral audio clip he sent to a minor. It's worth noting that these accusations were made by an anonymous individual on X.

Linus was shocked to see that the controversies involving the two creators were trending at the same pace and also mentioned that one was a "large scandal" whereas the other was a "small' one. He said:

"I won't say that the Internet can't tell the difference between a small scandal and a large one... but I will say that these two numbers probably shouldn't be as close as they are."

"I don't know anything," Linus responds to a user asking about the Pokimane and "Dream Did What" controversies

One user asked Linus to provide more information on the controversies, but he stated that he was not aware of any details regarding them.

Other users also commented on his original post, agreeing with the tech YouTuber.

Some fans and users thought that Pokimane was only trending due to her being super popular in the streaming industry.

This user said that the trending list on X looks different to everyone depending on one's location.

User @XenaRathon said that the internet will not stand for a streamer overcharging for private label cookies.

The tech YouTuber has not directly made any comment about either of the scandals in detail. Moreover, it's worth noting that Sebastian himself was recently involved in a controversy with StarForge Systems in October 2023.
