As we reported earlier, Nintendo of America president and COO Reggie Fils-Aime announced his impending retirement today. The popular Nintendo executive made the announcement of his April 15th retirement via a video posted on the Nintendo of America Twitter account.Nintendo fans, Reggie has a message for all of you. Please take a look. pic.twitter.com/EAhaEl5oEJ— Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) February 21, 2019Reggie joined Nintendo in 2003 as executive vice president of sales and marketing. His boisterous appearances at press conferences and events were frequently turned into viral moments by enthusiastic fans - beginning with his "My name is Reggie. I'm about kicking ass..." speech at E3 2004. In just a few years, Reggie was promoted to president of Nintendo of America, essentially becoming the face of the company for most of the western world. Now, after 15 or so years, Reggie has decided to call it a day in order to, as these things usually go, spend more time with his family. It's understandable; while Fils-Aime always seems to have an overabundance of energy and enthusiasm, being in charge of a company like NOA can't exactly be the easiest job in the world. It didn't take long for both fans and colleagues to start showing their appreciation... via Tweets, of course. We will miss you Reggie!
