PlayStation news: Online beta for Dead Or Alive 6 launches

Yep. This is a Dead or Alive game, all right.
Yep. This is a Dead or Alive game, all right.

If you're a fighting game fanatic and a PlayStation Plus subscriber, today is your lucky day. The online beta test of the online mode for the upcoming Dead or Alive 6 launches on PS4 and it's for PS Plus subscribers only.

The beta can be found in the PlayStation Store and will be available from today until January 14th. So, get cracking, you crazy kung fu fighters.

So, what's going to be in this beta test, you ask? Well, it'll be the Online Versus mode and you'll have a handful of classic Dead or Alive icons. Players will get to choose between Kasumi, Ayane, Hayate, and Hayabusa. Or, for something new, they can also play as Diego, a brand new character dubbed "the Uncrowned Street Hero."

Sadly, there's only one stage available to fight in - the DOA Colosseum - but that one's still pretty cool and even has exploding ring ropes.

For newcomers to the series, the demo features a pretty comprehensive tutorial mode to get players ready before taking on others. The official Dead or Alive website also features a "How To Play" section to get you up to speed, as well.

Here's a new trailer to get you in the mood.

If you're looking for the beta in the PS Store, I've found the fastest way to find it is to simply search for "Dead or Alive". It should pop up pretty quickly. You can also find it online here.

While the beta is limited to PS4, the final version of the game will also be available on XBox One as well as PC via Steam. It's scheduled for release on March 1st worldwide.

Once you've played the beta for a bit, you can do KOEI TECMO and Team NINJA a solid by taking their short survey and let them know what you thought. You can also tell us what you thought in the comments section below.
