PMCO Fall Split Finals 2019 Team Spotlight: RRQ Athena is a team to watch out for

PUBG Mobile Club Open Fall Split Global Finals is around the corner and will be spread over three days between 29th November and 1st December at Kuala Lampur. 16 teams from across the globe will be competing for the title and RRQ Athena will be one of the participating teams, having emerged as champions of the Southeast Asia Finals.

The history and formation of RRQ Athena

Team Soul of Soy had become a part of Rex Regum Queon, a multi-gaming organization based in Indonesia, on September 4, 2018, to play as RRQ Athena. With many laurels to their name ever since RRQ Athena is a Thailand-based PUBG Mobile team.

RRQ Athena's roster for PMCO Fall Split 2019

RRQ Athena initially comprised of D2E, G9, iSONG, Plz and Senior. iSONG and Plz left the team eventually, paving way for Earnny and WHY to join. The roster currently comprises of the following players:

G9: Pachachai Han, who's widely recognized as G9 is the captain of RRQ Athena. As an attacker and scout, he's one of the first members of the team. G9 is also a streamer on YouTube and has a vast fan following.

D2E: Bawonchai Han aka D2E has been essaying the role of an attacker alongside being the only sniper of RRQ Athena. He is a Thai national who's been a part of the team since September 2018.

Senior: Navin Phrompitak is a Thai-born PUBG Mobile player who is popularly known by his IGN, Senior. He supports and attacks for RRQ Athena.

Earnny: Wachirawit Ramangkool, popularly known as Earnny is an attacker for RRQ Athena. He joined to complete the team after iSONG left the squad.

WHY: Thitipong Sannue aka WHY hails from Narathiwat in Thailand. He's a supporter for RRQ Athena and the last player to join the team after the departure of Plz in April 2019.

Post their inception in September 2018, RRQ Athena's first win was at the PUBG Mobile Indonesia Championship's Qualifier (Bogor). Their ground-breaking win, however, was at PUBG Mobile Star Challenge 2018 when they bagged the first place with whopping prize money of $200,000.

RRQ Atena have been winning multiple awards and championships post that big win, including PUBG Mobile YEAH Asia League 2019, PMCO Spring SPlit 2019 SEA amongst many.

RRQ Athena's run in PMCO 2019

RRQ Athena's run in PUBG Mobile Club Open has always been noteworthy. During the Spring Split in July 2019, the team was placed second in the SEA League qualifier and won the SEA Championship, taking home $30,000. They finished fourth overall at the Global Finals, garnering a total of 267 points including 63 kill points with just one chicken dinner.

At PMCO Fall Split 2019, the team maintained a consistent streak of kills with or without Chicken Dinners throughout the SEA League Stage and managed to stay in the top six. During the SEA Regional Championship stage, RRQ Athena scored a total of 211 points with 82 kills and 4 Chicken Dinners spread over 14 matches.

They bagged the No.1 position and emerged as the Southeast Asian Champions of PMCO Fall Split 2019, qualifying for the Global Finals.

All that RRQ Athena have been relying on is kills and that seems to have worked well for the side. A strong attacker line up and aggressive gameplay has always been the team's plan and their run at PMCO 2019 proved it.
