Release date announced for Europa Universalis IV: El Dorado expansion

Europa Universalis IV: El Dorado

Popular grand strategy title, Europa Universalis IV, will be getting a new DLC expansion soon. Developers Paradox Interactive have announced a release date as well as a few new screenshots of their upcoming El Dorado expansion. Europa Universalis IV released back in August 2013 to much critical acclaim.

The new El Dorado expansion will be arriving on February 26th this year. The DLC will add a few new features to the strategy game, such as the ability to create a brand new nation. It will also add some new gameplay mechanics for the Incan, Mesoamerica and Aztec nations. Players who do not get the El Dorado expansion can still expect some smaller improvements and tweaks to enhance their gameplay.

The DLC will also come with a new automated system of land and sea explorations. Players will now have treasure fleets to aid them in their quest for the legendary cities of gold. This won’t be all that easy though, as players will have to protect their gold from raiders.

Lastly, the new Nation Designer tool will give players more starting options as well as custom monarchs. According to the developers, the tool will let players “create custom challenges anywhere on Earth.”
