What can be more interesting than a game that includes cars, as well as the best elements of football? Released in July 2015, Rocket League is one of the most positive rated game on Steam and yet, it is one of those that got lost for being an indie game, as well as a slightly steep learning curve.

A sequel to the beloved arena classic, "Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars!", Rocket League combines soccer with driving, in an intriguing way, that will leave you addicted. It runs well on low-end systems and is one of the games with the lowest system requirements out there. But if you think it is a child's play, you are wrong. it isn't easy to learn, but the experience is rewarding. Unlike other "sports games" like FIFA or Madden, you don't pass the ball at the click of a button. Passing, shooting, dribbling, tackling, and jukes, they're all in the game, but you have to make them happen yourself, and not just press the right button. One of the curators of the game rightly encapsulates the level of challenge, in the following words; "To make a pass in Rocket League you have to drive your car into the ball at the right speed and angle to send it over to where your teammate is going. You have to create the pass yourself, and it can be anything, from a hard bounce off the back wall to a soft lob over the defender."

In fact, at first, getting the chance to kick the ball in a 3v3 game (the most popular mode of the game) is a challenge, but as your skill grows, the freedom to create any play you can imagine and execute is unlike anything you'll find in any other "sports game". The game mechanics are simple, but they can be combined into many complex actions, thus providing endless skill curve for you to be always challenged. Even if you aren't interested in sports games, this game is bound to make you fall in love with it, and before you know it you would be playing a football based game.

Moreover, it has a small but dedicated esports community out there. Hosted by Psyonix Inc., the game's developer and publisher, it has it's own biannual tournament "Rocket League Championship Series", and it boasts the participation of many famous esports franchises, such as Fnatic, Splyce, Rogue, Cloud 9 and Complexity Gaming.

Once you develop positional awareness and learn proper rotation, you are bound to get addicted to the game. The game is priced at 565 INR on the Steam store but is usually available during sales at 50% discount.
