If you're familiar with the Resident Evil series, you'll know that it is one of the best zombie survival series of games ever made. Resident Evil 2 was originally launched in 1998 and got a full-fledged remake in 2019.
Resident Evil 2 sticks quite well to the original. You control either one of two protagonists: Leon and Claire. You'll have to navigate the hellscape of Raccoon City, defeating zombies and advancing through an incredibly well-written plot.
Resident Evil 2 is one of the best zombie survival games out there and it has won many awards for its gameplay and narrative.

Although it is not exactly a "zombie" game, The Last of Us is set in a post-apocalyptic world where a certain plant has infected the planet and turned them into monstrous creatures. The Last of Us features a progressive story where you have to use stealth or go guns blazing in whichever level you are playing.
The Last of Us is one of the best games of all time and not just the best zombie survivor game. It has an incredibly heartbreaking story and you'll want to play this game for the story more than just the game. The game has won several awards and even almost 7 years later, it has been hard to top this game.
The Last of Us is also receiving a sequel in May 2020 and it is one of the most hyped titles of all time.
