Like every other game, The Evil Within restricted the PC version by excluding basic setting options, the most upsetting of which was the 30 frames per second limit. However, the game no longer requires the use of console commands to bypass the cap and enjoy all of the horror at a 60 FPS. And all you need to do is update the game in Steam.
Bethesda released a new patch today, which takes care of the aforementioned annoyances. And now The Evil Within can dish out its scares using all of your monitor’s real estate at 60 FPS. You can read the short change log below:
- -Frame lock settings added – In settings, you can now toggle between a 30 FPS and 60 FPS cap
- -Letterbox setting – UI toggle to disable the letterbox bars
- -Fixes gameplay issues when running at >30 FPS
- -Fixes for visual issues associated with removing letterbox framing
- -Achievements now work when console is enabled
- -Fix for game starting in windowed mode on first run
- -Minor localization fixes
So lets see what is in store!
