Top 5 Nintendo Switch Games coming in 2019

Astral Chain
Astral Chain

Nintendo always had a different market for video games, their fan base is different and the type of games you would find on their system is generally not available anywhere else. Since Nintendo doesn't care about creating a benchmark with their games' visuals, they do however provide a quality gaming experience in terms of storytelling and combat and take players into adventures they grow to love unconditionally. This is what has been Nintendo's selling point this generation and why Switch continues to sell incredibly well even after 3 years of its launch. And if its 2019 line-up of games is any indication, I highly doubt that this year's story would be any different.

Without any further delay, let's just get look at the top 5 games coming on Nintendo Switch this year and might just tempt you to buy the console if you haven't got one at home yet.

#5 Oninaki

Developed by Tokyo Factory, the studio behind ' I am Setsuna' and 'Lost Sphear' and published by Square Enix, Oninaki is an upcoming action role-playing game set in a wondrous ever enchanting world where the player character travels between the living world and the realm of the dead known as The Beyond.

In the world of Oninaki, there are watchers, who maintain order between the living world and the beyond. The player controls a watcher known as Kagachi, who during his growing up days could never understand the difference between the two closely connected yet completely different worlds.

Players will travel through snow ridden castles, lush pink coloured forests and rescue the lost who had wandered from their path. Oniaki will feature real time combat unlike other games from Toky factory which features turn based complex battles. In Oninaki players will fight off different monsters, meet different souls throughout their journey and experience a tale of life and reincarnation.

Oninaki is out on Nintendo Switch this summer. No release date has been confirmed yet.

#4 Astral Chain

Instead of showing Bayonetta 3 at Nintendo Direct, Platinum games decided to show off a completely new game which is scheduled to launch this year. Astral chain is an action hack and slash game from the studio behind 2017's Nier Automata and the upcoming Bayonetta 3.

Set in a futuristic cyberpunk version of Japan, you play either as a male or a female cop, along with a twin companion of the opposite gender of your character, fighting off an alien invasion in the city of Ark. Alongside your twin companion, you also get to bring a legion- a living weapon to fight alongside you in the battle between good and evil.

The combat in this game boils down to slashing your enemies with a sword, as well as with a ranged chain like secondary weapon. You can also command your legion to fight for you as well as make strategies to overcome a certain battle scenario. Stealth also seems to be an option according to the above trailer and it seems the players will be able to freely navigate the game's world outside combat.

Astral Chain is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch on 30 August 2019.

The highly anticipated turn based tactical role playing game Fire Emblems: Three Houses is the anime version of Harry Potter. The game is set in the continent of Fódlan, where the order is maintained by the church of Seiros.

You play as a mercenary either male or female, who is invited to teach one of Officers Academy's three mighty houses- Black Eagles, Blue Lions, Golden Deer. As a professor to the mulitude of students of one of these houses, you will lead them through academic lives and indulge in turn based tactical role playing battles which you have to strategize and control as the fate of the students lie in balance.

The more your character interacts with the students, the more prominent and diversified their skills become as the game progresses. Depending on how you guide them, each of your student will be able to wield different weapons during the battles as well as master the art of magic while learning special skills such as horsemanship.

Fire Emblems is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch on 26 July 2019.

Bayonetta 3 will see the return of the provocative witch Bayonetta, in what seems to indicate a prequel to the 2nd entry of this stylish action hack and slash game. Announced first way back at December 2017, during The Game Awards with a short teaser showcasing Bayonetta who is seen sporting her look from that of the first Bayonetta game.

Sadly, not much has been revealed about the game since then. With Platinum games getting ready to ship another Nintendo Switch exclusive action game-Astral Chain by the end of August, fans had gotten worried regarding the state of this game due to it notable absent from February's Nintendo Direct. Fortunately, Nintendo of America’s senior product marketing manager Bill Trinen went on to clear the air surrounding the game and confirmed that ''Bayonetta 3 will be coming a little bit sooner than fans anticipated.''

#1 The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

The most shocking announcement that came with February's Nintendo Direct was that of the Link's Awakening remake for Nintendo Switch. Originally released on the Game Boy about 25 years ago, Link's Awakening takes players to the mysterious island of Koholint on a dangerous adventure.

This re-imagining of Link's Awakening will retain the game's over the top camera angle while featuring 3D graphics. Players will explore an open world, solving puzzles, indulging in boss battles and exploring intricate dungeons.

Link's Awakening currently doesn't have a release date but is scheduled to release sometime in 2019.
