Control

Remedy's highly anticipated Metrodvania style psychological thriller Control is all set to launch next month.

In Control, you play as Jesse Faden, a young woman who gained supernatural powers after suffering a traumatic childhood experience. The story revolves around her venturing into the Federal Bureau of Control to seek answers about her past.

Control is an open-ended sandbox third-person shooter game and serves as a complete departure from Remedy's previous titles such as Alan Wake and Quantum Break, all of which are linear single player adventures. Keep in mind though, Control is not an 'open world' game and falls in line more with games like Dishonored or Prey.

The oldest house is a shape-shifting level and players are free to explore the oldest house as they please. However, it seems not every door will be accessible from the beginning. Think of this system from 2018's God Of War. That game encouraged a lot of replayability as many of the areas were locked out initially due to the lack of abilities or weapons that Kratos had in the beginning.

Control is out for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on 27 August,2019.
