Marvel's Spider-Man, developed by Insomniac Games exclusively for the PlayStation 4, has officially sold over nine million copies as of 25 November 2018.

This number has come as a shock to both fans and analysts alike as the game was only released in September 2018, stating that within two months, almost 10% of the PS4 owners managed to own a copy of the latest Spider-Man game. If Sony releases the latest sales data, many expect this number to be a lot higher, crossing over 12 million units.

This number does not shed any light whether the game sold more copies physically or via the digital store. Nevertheless, over 9 million copies in the first two months of the game's release is still an extraordinary feat, considering that the title only concentrated on a single-player experience.

The presence of an engaging single-player campaign and the commitment by the company behind the franchise to support the game well past its release with the influx of new DLCs has certainly contributed for the game's immense popularity amongst PlayStation 4's users.

Recently, Marvel's Spider-Man received a three-story DLC - The Heist, Turf Wars and The Silver lining.
