What's the story?

Two Indian eSports professionals Raghu Drake and Tejas Klaret were reported dead after an unfortunate car accident on their way back from a gaming event in Chennai.

GoFigure is an eSports team that consists of professional gamers who play a variety of games like CS: GO, DotA, DotA 2, FIFA etc. GoFigure was formed in 2017 and has been an active participant in e-sports events throughout the country since then.

The heart of the matter

Indian eSports professionals, Raghu Drake and Tejas Klaret, who were a part of GoFigure, lost their lives in a car accident yesterday afternoon on their way back from a gaming event in Chennai, according to a report in Talk eSport. Their fellow passengers in the car were reported as safely hospitalized, though most of them have suffered severe injuries as a result of the crash.

Raghu Drake was a two-time national eSports champion and was a part of the professional team, Dare2Dream and represented India in various eSports events.

The car accident occurred as the GoFigure team was on their way back after playing at a gaming tournament at League of Extraordinary Gamers, Chennai. The accident is reported to have taken place around 12:30 pm with early reports suggesting that the driver lost control of the vehicle and toppling the car twice before stopping to a halt.

Raghu Drake was critically injured at the time of the accident and, succumbed to his injuries in the ambulance on the way to the nearest hospital.

What's next?

The GoFigure CEO Mr. Stephen Samuel, expressed his deep condolences to the family members of the two deceased and, the website Talkesport will be setting up a crowdfunding initiative to support their family upon their consent.
