Two new Mortal Kombat X characters to be revealed next week

It has been announced that two new Mortal Kombat X characters will be revealed in the coming week. Creative Director of the game, Ed Boon tweeted today that Mortal Kombat X Twitch demonstration will take place next week and he will reveal the new character for the game on January 29th in Twitch.tv.

He also posted separate tweet that two new characters will be revealed for the game. However, it is unknown at the moment as to which characters will be returning, the favourites or new. So far, twelve characters has been revealed for the game.

The new characters being, Cassie Cage, D’Vorah, Ferra/Torr and Kotal Khan. The new leader of the Outworld will be Kotal Khan and he has been described as the game’s main antagonist. The ones who will be returning are Kano, Kitana, Kung Lao, Quan Chi, Raiden, Scorpion and Sub-Zero. Goro will be in the game too, although players will have to pre-order Mortal Kombat X first to make him playable in the game.

Ed Boon also mentioned that the game’s roster will be evenly split between new and old returning characters, the number of characters that will be put into the game is still unknown, but it has been estimated that there will be about 24 characters altogether.

Mortal Kombat X is scheduled to release on April 14th for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360. Here are the tweets from Ed Boon:
