SuperEvil Mega Corp (SEMC) announced on 14 February, 2019 that the game will be releasing on Steam along with the Update 4.0.

Vainglory was initially a 3v3 MOBA for Android and IOS which released in 2014. Just last year the game released a deep 5v5 version which some argue almost has the same competitive parity as popular PC MOBAs like League of Legends (LoL). Now, a year later the game has been released on Steam. One of the highlights about the cross platform play in this game is that cross platform matchmaking is always on and you are always matched with players across all platforms.

The PC MOBA market is already dominated by popular MOBAs like League of Legends (LoL) and Dota 2. The CEO of SEMC is confident that in spite of this, a large number of players will definitely be diving into Vainglory because it has a easier learning curve and it has some very unique features. With this, the game now supports cross platform play between Android, IOS, Windows PC and Mac.

Vainglory Esports is something that has been happening for a while now. The 2017 Vainglory World Championships saw a total prize pool of $140K. We saw some really familiar Esports organizations like Team Solomid, Cloud 9 and G2 Esports participate in the event. 2018, on the other hand, was a really slow year for the competitive scene as the game transitioned from its traditional 3v3 mode to a full fledged 5v5 experience. Most of the organizations also left Vainglory Esports.

SEMC plans to relaunch the Esports scene in 2019 after learning from the mistakes it made in the past. The best thing about the competitive scene will be that it will be completely cross platform where players will be able to play in the device of their own choice- PC or Mobile. The World Electronic Sports Games (WESG) finals scheduled during March also has Vainglory as one of the games being played. More information about the WESG finals can be found here.

We cannot wait to see what 2019 has in store for this unique cross platform MOBA. The download link for Vainglory in Steam can be found here.
