The beta period will be accessible to all players who have pre-ordered The Division 2. Players can sign up for the beta in Ubisoft's website. Players who pre-ordered The Division 2 on Windows PC (interestingly not on Steam this time), Xbox One or PS4 will be eligible. Although it is important to note that not all players who pre-ordered will get the beta access.

We are still not sure what the beta is offering as Ubisoft has not released any notes or details on it. But from what we can tell from the trailer, players can explore Washington D.C. where the game is set, some early access to the beginning of the story and access to the lower level content of the game.

What is different about The Division?

The Division is part of the Tom Clancy series of games, which includes Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and the online multiplayer focused Rainbow: Six Siege. It is much more fast paced than the stealth-based Splinter Cell and does not really rely on tactics like Ghost Recon. It is a more interactive but action-packed open-world shooter.

In the first game, The Division, a group of terrorists spread an epidemic across New York City. In both games, you assume the role of a tactical elite team called "The Division". In The Division 2, the premise is set in Washington D.C.
