The biggest and most ambitious feature of Watch Dogs Legion, that set's it apart from all the open world games out there is that it doesn't have a pre-defined main character.
In Watch Dogs: Legion you can play as anyone. That means every NPC of the game you come across is different and you can recruit them in your band of resistance.
The NPC's in Watch Dogs Legion will be procedurally generated that means that every character will have a different look, voice, behaviour and habits, back story, as well as different skills that would set them apart from, let's say any other NPC in your radar.
This ambitious feature will lay down the groundwork for Watch Dogs: Legion's entirety of gameplay. Players will be given the freedom to choose any NPC as their character according to their liking. For example:-
One of the characters that was featured in the gameplay "liked to pick fights in a bar", meaning that he had a special ability of "75 melee damage while drunk", giving players a completley different approach to the gameplay.
Just like that, the world of Watch Dogs Legion will feature several other interesting characters for you to recruit and play as, given that you first perform some specific tasks for them and gain their trust.
