The lack of proper talent management had been one of the bigger evils during the initial phases in the Indian video game content creation industry.

Trinity Gaming was formed with the sole purpose of filling in that void and helping cultivate newer talent who are going to be the rising stars of tomorrow.

In an exclusive conversation with Abhishek Mallick of Sportskeeda Esports, Mr. Abhishek Aggarwal, Co-Founder & CEO of Trinity Gaming, talked about some of the ideas behind the creation of the organization. He also discussed how he wants to make video game content creation and esports look like viable career options.

Here is an excerpt of the interview.

Q. Sir, before we head any deeper into the conversation, I would love for you to tell us a bit about yourself and the vision that went behind the making of Trinity Gaming.

Abhishek Aggarwal: We founded Trinity Gaming to make people look at esports as a viable career option. We aim to provide creators with good business opportunities and a chance for them to grow with us.

We started Trinity Gaming with a mission: to connect brands, creators, and audiences under the same roof. This would not only boost the confidence of creators but also encourage other inspiring ones to step forward in the gaming industry.

Q. What were some of the struggles you and Mr Shivam Rao faced early on? Getting Trinity Gaming to where it is today must not have been an easy feat to pull off.

Abhishek Aggarwal: Every startup faces problems in the initial stages, so did we! Luckily, we do not invest in hardware or software or much technical equipment.

We believed in investing in human resources. The most common issue that startups usually face is monetary support. We are glad that we had very supportive staff members who agreed to work voluntarily initially and helped us pull off this challenge.

Q. When it comes to the market of video game content creation, India has always had potential. What was lacking was effective talent management, which was indeed a big issue, at least a few years ago. What role do you feel Trinity Gaming played at the time of its conception, to help the emerging market?

Abhishek Aggarwal: Indeed, effective talent management was lacking, which was also one of the primary reasons why there was a hindrance in accepting gaming as a viable career option. We are happy that Trinity Gaming could create a change in the market and make the industry more systemized.

Let’s not forget that talent management not only focuses on working with famous existing talents but also nurturing upcoming creators based on their potential in the industry.

With our experience, we help new creators grow, provide them with graphic assistance, PR, educate them about social media presence, and help them with funding in some cases. This ensures no potential creator lags behind due to the unavailability of resources.

Q. How exactly is Trinity Gaming helping content creators make video games a viable profession in terms of not just earning money but also making a name for themselves in something that they are passionate about?.

Abhishek Aggarwal: We are just the enablers in the ecosystem. We show the way to success to our beloved creators, and their future in the industry depends on their potential and hard work. But Trinity Gaming does help them with emotional support, motivation, and assistance in the gaming industry.

Q. Aspiring YouTubers and video game content creators often struggle in not just finding suitable partnerships but also a direction in which to move forward in. How does Trinity Gaming help newcomers in creating viable career options and opportunities?

Abhishek Aggarwal: Trinity Gaming has a separate talent scouting department that finds potential newcomers on various platforms. Then, the team analyzes the type of support they require, if there are brands needed, graphical assistance, media assistance, etc.

Based on the research, most newcomers don’t pursue their passion for gaming further due to a lack of resources. That’s where Trinity Gaming comes to the rescue so that every new talent gets to explore their future in gaming.

Q. Mastering one talent and monetizing it for the content business is often easier said than done. Without proper guidance, it’s quite challenging for the average YouTuber to gain proper recognition for their work. What kind of talent management programs does Trinity Gaming have set up to help out those still struggling in the industry?

Abhishek Aggarwal: The gaming industry looks pretty fascinating from the outside but is also very hectic and requires a lot of dedication to make a name in this industry. As the gaming industry is so vast, there are different creators and professionals who face various challenges. Therefore, the solution to every problem is also different.

Trinity Gaming aims at focusing on finding solutions to individual issues and helping the creator grow. We also have a program named “Gaming Gurukul,” where a new creator is given step-by-step guidance on how to grow in this industry, including improved gaming skills, graphic assistance, social media management, PR activities, etc.

Q. Will Trinity Gaming be limiting itself to just content creators, or can we see the org expanding into the field of competitive esports as well?

Abhishek Aggarwal: As of now, Trinity Gaming focuses on content creators only, as it is much required in the gaming industry. We have also not reached our organizational goal or the peak in talent management. We aim to pull that off first.

We are also planning to invest in esports, but not that this stage, as talent management still needs more attention and growth.

Q. What has the growth trajectory been like for Trinity Gaming from the time of its inception to this date?

Abhishek Aggarwal: Trinity Gaming has grown a lot. It's the feeling of achievement we have. However, we can't judge in exact numbers regarding growth percentage.

But in 2019, it was just me and Shivam who started. But in 2021, we lead a team of enthusiastic staff members and a family of more than 200 creators.

Q. With the COVID-19 induced lockdown in India, the video games market in the nation saw a significant boost in terms of viewership and community participation. How has the lockdown particularly been for Trinity Gaming and its partnered content creators?

Abhishek Aggarwal: The gaming industry experienced a considerable hike in viewership and community participation, but we should not forget that it's a lockdown period, where people are at home and exploring their passions.

We also came across a few potential creators who developed their interest in gaming during the lockdown period.

The main challenge will be faced after the lockdown, and the situation gets dissolved, and people go on to their regular lives. We wish the creators continue their passion for gaming after the situation gets normal.

Q. Creating new and innovative branding strategies has been one of Trinity Gaming’s biggest strengths. Sir, I wanted to stress just how the org comes up with these strategies and implements them in a way that benefits both the influencer and the gaming ecosystem.

Abhishek Aggarwal: This is the exact reason we invest in human resources. We believe in exploring the ideas from the creators’ staff who understand the audiences, creators, and social media.

We have staff who work on scouting while the research department figures out the trending strategies and drafts out plans for our creators. We have brand managers and graphic designers who help your creators with implementing various strategies.

So long story short, if Trinity could reach the point where it is, our team members have a significant role to play. We are thankful to our beloved staff and teams, who work hard to help uplift Trinity Gaming, the creators, and the gaming ecosystem.
