Wii U and PS4 more popular than Xbox One in France

Wii U is more popular in France

The Xbox One consoles have sold out very well in France last year but the Wii U still remains unbeatable when it comes to sales. It has been reported by the French publication Le Figaro in the sales figure for the major console companies in France in the year of 2014.

The PS4 stands in the first place with total sales of 1.1 million units. Here, the console sold 860,000 units in 2014 alone. Second, the Wii U has total sales of 515,000 units altogether and 240,000 units in 2014.

Third, the Xbox One’s total sales are at 416,000 units. However, the console was sold more than the Wii U in 2014, with a sales total of 290,000 units.

It has been predicted by Le Figro that the Xbox One will soon surpass Wii U in France due to its attractive Bundle package and also the combination of the game Assassins Creed Unity along with it. However, it has also been reported that Microsoft’s approach has been more aggressive in North America with a $50 price drop and that there has been no price drop in France so far.

Although Sony and PS4 have won the console race so far, Nintendo has always been the more successful and the popular one in France, states Le Figro. Nintendo games have sold 4.5 million units in France so far in the last year. EA and Ubisoft were in the second and third positions as 3DS games did well with Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire being the number one title and games like Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros also sold pretty well.
