If you cant drive a real Formula 1 car what is the next best thing? Drive a virtual one of course. The rush isnt the same as the real thing but that doesnt mean it isnt thrilling. The concept of an F1 game is nothing new and there have been games on the sport since the 1970s but with the advancement of computer graphics in the 21st century there have been quite a few memorable Formula 1 games. The best Formula 1 games are listed below.

#1 F! 2013: Complete Edition

Codemasters have made splendid Formula 1 games since they acquired the rights to the franchise back in 2008 and their latest offering is absolutely brilliant. F1 2013 is as realistic as it gets and the introduction of the classic F1 cars of the 1980’s and 1990’s are an extra bonus. After seeing the brilliance of the 2013 game I simply cannot wait for the next one.

#2 F1 2012

The 2012 edition of the game was also praised by critics and fans alike. New features like Champions Mode, Season Challenge and One-Shot Qualifying received critical acclaim along with the Young Test Driver Mode which acted as a tutorial before a player starts the game. Codemasters also boosted the sound of the game so that players could hear their opponents cars approaching.

#3 F1 2011

The 2011 edition of the F1 game was truly groundbreaking and introduced some major updates which made the franchise truly great. The 2011 version was the first to introduce the Career Mode along with an improved multiplayer settings which allow a person to compete against other players from around the world. Indian fans also enjoyed this game as it was the first to feature the Buddh International Circuit in Delhi.

#4 Formula 1

Bizarre Creations released this groundbreaking game back in 1997 which pretty much set the standard for all F1 games. Formula 1 looked amazing for a game of that era and was one of the first games with commentary. I’m sure all the new F1 games took inspiration from this great game.

#5 F1 World Grand Prix

This game released for the Nintendo 64 was truly a masterpiece. World Grand Prix featured the real life players and racing teams along with realistic weather conditions that affect the game play. The player could also relive the moments of the 1997 F1 season.
