The league table is nicely shaping up with Melbourne Stars chasing a semi-final spot and a win against Perth Scorchers will put them firmly in the driver's seat. Perth Scorchers have been dismal with the bat all season and have suffered due to it on countless occasions.

On the other hand, the Stars have won their last three games on the trot, thanks to Marcus Stoinis, who has taken it upon himself to lead the Stars to the semis. With the match being played at the Optus Stadium and this being the Scorchers' final home game, this match is sure to be a thriller for everyone to witness.

Playing XI Updates:

Perth Scorchers:

Shaun Marsh and Usman Qadir aren't in the squad for the final home game, making way for Michael Klinger and Nathan Coulter-Nile. Klinger himself was dropped due to poor form and could use this opportunity to prove his class once again. With nothing to play for after being ousted from the competition, Perth should be able to play without any fear.

Possible XI: Klinger, Inglis (WK), Bancroft, Turner, Mitchell Marsh (C), Hobson, Coulter-Nile, Hinchcliffe, Tye, Kelly and Behrendorff.

Melbourne Stars:

Jackson Coleman has been called up at the expense of Tom O'Connell and could play against the Scorchers right away. Marcus Stoinis has been their trump card with vital contributions with bat and ball. Liam Plunkett and Adam Zampa have also been brilliant of late and considering the batting collapses that Perth has endured over the past week, the Stars should feel confident about their chances.

Possible XI: Dunk, Stoinis, Handscomb (WK), Maxwell (C), Maddinson, Bravo, Gulbis, Plunkett, Zampa, Coleman and Bird.


Fantasy Tips and Suggestions:

Wicket-keeper: Both Cameron Bancroft and Pete Handscomb are in good form with a couple of fifties also to their name in this year's competition. Bancroft held his own amongst a heap of wickets falling around him against the Heat and should be able to do well against the Stars.

Batting: Glenn Maxwell, Ben Dunk, Ashton Turner, and Michael Klinger are the ideal set of players to have in your fantasy team. Ben Dunk has been in fine form of late since opening the batting with Marcus Stoinis. He is one player to keep an eye on with Nic Maddinson also amongst the available options.

All-rounders: Marcus Stoinis has been sensational in the Stars' last three games and is a must have in the team. Along with him, either or both of Mitchell Marsh and Dwayne Bravo would be handy options with their ability in the shorter format well known.

Bowlers: Matt Kelly has been the breakthrough player for the Scorchers this season. He has in his possession a brutal yorker which has accounted for many good players as well. Along with Adam Zampa and Jason Behrendorff, he is an invaluable selection to the team. Andrew Tye and Liam Plunkett could also prove to be useful options with the pitch at Perth favouring the pacers.

Captain: Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell are the front-runners for captain with the Perth captain due for a big one this season. Although Marcus Stoinis has been in sensational form and could rake in crucial points with bat and ball, Maxwell should be preferred if a Stars players were to be chosen as captain.
