Domestic heavyweights, Tamil Nadu face an upbeat Gujarat side in their upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy fixture, set to take place on Monday.

Tamil Nadu sprung a few surprises as they left the likes of Murali Vijay and Abhinav Mukund out of their squad, but haven't fully justified the decision with a lackluster performance against Rajasthan.

They now face another stern test in the form of Gujarat who are riding on the performances of their premier all-rounder, Axar Patel. With the match set to take place in Surat, TN have their hands full against Priyank Panchal and co. on Monday.

Gujarat:

Not many changes are expected of Gujarat with all of their players contributing in one way or the other. Axar Patel and Piyush Chawla have done well with their subtle variations while the top three consisting of Priyank Panchal, Urvil Patel and Dhruv Rawal have impressed in patches in their previous two games.

After a close win against Rajasthan, Gujarat will be harbouring hopes of finishing at the top of the table and will enter the match as the favourites.

Tamil Nadu:

With perhaps the best spin trio in the competition, TN haven't been able to complement their performances with the bat in their two matches thus far. Jagadeesan will be key for the side with the wicket-keeper capable of dismantling the opposition bowling attacks with his explosive batting.

Washington Sundar and Ravi Ashwin's presence brings in much-needed balance to the TN side desperate for a win over the hosts.

Wicket-keeper: Jagadeesan is the ideal choice for the wicket-keeper slot in the fantasy team with his ability to score at a good rate. He was one of the best players in the TNPL 2018 and should come good on Monday.

Batsmen: Priyank Panchal has been fairly consistent for Gujarat over the last two-three years and is a great option to have in the side. The likes of Chirag Gandhi, Shahrukh Khan and Baba Indrajith are also viable options with their ability in the T20 format on full display in the previous round of matches in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019.

All-rounders: The fantasy team is to be built around R. Ashwin, Washington Sundar and Axar Patel, who are must-have players. All three spin bowling allrounders have excelled for the Indian national team and are sure to have a say in the context of the match.

Bowlers: Abhishek Tanwar is a great option to have with his death bowling abilities second to none in the TN side, while Piyush Chawla's inclusion is a no-brainer on a pitch that is set to favour the spinners. One of Roosh Kalaria or Hardik Patel should also prove to be a handy option if selected.
