India take on the Maldives in the second semi-final match of the 2013 SAFF Championship at the Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal and if one looks at the history books, then India is clearly ahead.

Overall India and Maldives have met 17 times, with India winning 11, Maldives winning four, and two ending in a draw. In these 17 matches, India have scored 30 goals and Maldives 13 in total.

The biggest victory margin was a 5-0 for India, but that win was achieved at the 1987 SAF Games in Kolkata.

The last couple of matches between these two nations were won by India, a 3-1 at the 2011 SAFF Championship semi-finals and a 3-0 win at the 2012 Nehru Cup in New Delhi.
