The 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup experience is all set to grip the Maximum City, a venue that supposedly has given the tournament one of its best stadiums – the DY Patil Stadium. Although not as popular as other centres like Kolkata, the North East or Goa, Mumbai has always been an important city for Indian football. Hence, lets take a look at the schedule, teams and match timings from the World Cup, to be held at the DY Patil Stadium, in Navi Mumbai.

Mumbai is set to host most of its group stage matches fro Group, which contains a few interesting teams, like Paraguay, Turkey, Mali and New Zealand. While none of these sides are traditional heavyweights in international football, they always carry the potential to enthral the crowd.

The likes of Paraguay and Turkey have a rich history in the history of the beautiful game, and have come up with many skilful players over the past. While Paraguay are known for the silkier, South American style of football, Turkey have been known to produce the hard game. African nation Mali can be termed as the dark horses of the group.

Aditionally, Indian football fans would also keep an eye out for the one Group A match slated to be held in this arena -- USA vs Colombia.

The DY Patil Stadium may be located a bit further from the main city, but it has given the FIFA U-17 World Cup one of its best arenas. Situated inside the DY Patil University in Navi Mumbai, the 51,000-seater arena already had all the facilities that were required for it to be considered as a possible World Cup venue. However, it was renovated anyway, in order to revamp the stadium.

Although stadiums like the Cooperage Ground and the Andheri Sports Complex (where the senior national team plays international friendlies) are closer to the main city and have mainly been used for hosting football matches, the DY Patil has played host to Indian Super League side Mumbai City FC in the past.
